This Privacy Policy explains how HigherLearningApp.com ("Higher Learning App," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares and sells personal information, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to our website at www.higherlearningapp.com, our landing pages, our advertisements, and any other place where we link to this policy (together, the "Services").
Higher Learning App is a college search and lead generation service. When you submit a request for information, we send your information to the colleges, universities and education providers you ask about, and to our marketing partners. Under many state privacy laws, this counts as a "sale" of personal information and as "sharing" for targeted advertising. This policy tells you how to opt out.

Categories of personal information we have sold or shared in the past 12 months: identifiers, contact information, education and demographic details, military affiliation, citizenship or residency status, Internet and device activity, and inferences about your educational interests. We sold or shared this information with the categories of recipients listed above. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
When you submit a form and check the consent box, you give express written consent for Higher Learning App and the school or schools identified on the form to contact you at the telephone number you provided, including a wireless number, by live call, prerecorded or artificial-voice message, automated dialing system and SMS/text message, and by email, about educational programs and services. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase or enrollment. Your consent applies even if your number appears on a federal, state or company Do Not Call list.
You may revoke consent at any time by replying STOP to any text message, by using the unsubscribe link in any email, by visiting Remove Me , by emailing support@higherlearningapp.com , by calling 718 655-2573 or by writing to us at the address in Section 1. We process opt-out requests within 10 business days. Revoking your consent to Higher Learning App does not automatically revoke consent you gave directly to a school; contact the school to opt out of its communications.
We and our partners use cookies, pixels, web beacons, session-recording scripts and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember your choices, measure advertising, and deliver targeted advertising on other websites. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may stop working.
Global Privacy Control. We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal sent by your browser or extension as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising for that browser, as required by California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon and Texas law. To apply your opt-out to information we already hold about you, also submit a request through Remove Me
Do Not Track. Because there is no industry standard for responding to browser "Do Not Track" signals, we do not respond to them. GPC signals are honored as described above.
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and other states have rights under their state privacy laws. Rather than list different rights for each state, we extend the following rights to every consumer in the United States, regardless of where you live:

California residents. In addition to the rights above, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 (the "Shine the Light" law) lets you request, once per year, a list of the third parties to which we disclosed personal information for their direct marketing purposes during the prior calendar year. Email support@higherlearningapp.com with the subject line "CA Privacy Disclosures." We do not offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information.
How to submit a request
Submit a request in any of these ways:
Tell us which right you are exercising and give us the name, email address, telephone number and zip code you used on our form so we can find your record. We will verify your identity by matching the details you give us to the information in our records and may ask for additional information if needed. We will not require you to create an account.
Authorized agents. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will ask for written permission signed by you, or a copy of a power of attorney, and may still verify your identity directly with you.
Timing. We will confirm receipt of your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why and may take up to 45 additional days. Opt-out requests are honored within 15 business days. We will tell the third parties to whom we sold or shared your information in the prior 90 days that you have opted out.
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We keep personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including delivering your inquiry, documenting your consent, and meeting legal, contractual and audit obligations. Lead records and consent certificates are typically retained for five years from submission, after which they are deleted or de-identified. Information you ask us to delete may remain in secure backups for a limited period until those backups are overwritten.
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted transmission of form submissions and restricted access to lead data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Services link to schools, partners and other websites we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, which we encourage you to read.
We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date above. If a change materially affects how we use or share your information, we will also notify you by email at the address in our records. Please review this policy regularly.
